Listen closely to this work—and witness how amplifying birth stories and centering the voices of those most impacted by infant mortality in Forsyth County, NC is not just raising awareness, but transforming lives, shifting power, and driving lasting change.
Forsyth County Birth Stories is proud to present “We Birthed This,” a live performance by Epoch Tribe that brings the raw, unfiltered voices of six mothers in Forsyth County to the stage.
Through honest and intimate storytelling, the production highlights their lived birth experiences while shedding light on broader maternal health challenges, particularly for Black mothers.
More than a performance, “We Birthed This” serves as an advocacy tool—amplifying the voices of Black mothers in Forsyth County and encouraging awareness, dialogue, and change around maternal health equity.

Join Other Organizations That Are Working Alongside Moms
Novant Health, Atrium Health, and the Forsyth County Department of Public Health worked on improvement projects in their organizations with moms to help address barriers and hardships moms identified during story sharing. Check out what they created below and scan their accompanying QR codes to learn more.
Moms, in partnership with Novant Health, explored the creation of a 4th Trimester Support Group—building a supportive space where new mothers can connect, share lived experiences, and access vital resources to ease the transition into motherhood and strengthen postpartum well-being.
Moms and Atrium Health co-created the Guide to a Successful Pregnancy for all moms in Forsyth County—equipping them with the knowledge, support, and empowerment to make informed decisions for themselves and their pregnancies.

Moms and the Forsyth County Department of Public Health identified critical gaps in postpartum support and created the Triad Area Postpartum Resource List—a comprehensive guide now shared across Forsyth County in clinics, OB/GYN offices, and community events.
